I needed to figure out how to keep the motors warm to the touch without fans. I decided to use an aluminum bracket that would help dissipate the heat generated by the motors (similar to a heat sink). Additionally, I designed the ewespinner’s frame so that the motors floated in the air just below the ewespinner, which provided the motors access to cooler air, further cooling them. This design results in motors that are warm to the touch, when running at 500 – 1500 RPM, even after many hours of continuous spinning.
